DAVIET,  won the Championship in IKG PTU Zonal Youth Festival which was organized from 21st, October, 2016 to 23rd October, 2016. It was a clean sweep for DAVIET which won the coveted Theatre, Fine Arts, Music, Singing and Literary trophies and also the overall trophy  to emerge victorious.  The win marked the establishment of DAVIET as a techno cultural hub of the Institutions affiliated to IKGPTU Jalandhar. The theme of the zonal youth festival was “Digital India” and it was dedicated to 125TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF BABA SAHIB DR. BHIM RAO AMBEDKAR. DAVIET overcame stiff competition from other teams and came out victorious.

Mr. B.S Sekhon, Ex Director Youth Welfare, GNDU Amritsar  and Observer of the Zonal Youth Festival  congratulated DAVIET for successfully hosting the Zonal Youth Festival. He congratulated all the winners and  stated that there is immense talent in the students and they should strive to excel at the international level.

The Chief Guest of the Valedictory Function Dr. Ajay Sharma, Director NIT Delhi congratulated all the prize winners and stated that such Youth Festivals are a great platform for the budding technocrats to showcase their talents in a wide variety of events.  He highlighted the fact that such cultural extravaganzas help the students imbibe the qualities of tolerance, dedication and devotion. He also stated that it only a tolerant society which can ensure proper justice for all the citizens.  While elaborating the student teacher relationship he stated  that it is a teacher who can propel and guide a student to great heights. He also wished all the winners the best of luck for Inter Zonal Youth Festival.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET,  in his address thanked all the dignitaries for taking time out of their busy schedules to grace the occasion with their benign presence. He also stated that DAVIET is always commitment to shoulder any responsibility given to it by the University. He also congratulated all the prize winners and stated that at DAVIET every student is given a chance to excel in a wide varieties of fields.  He appreciated the hard work put in by the Cultural Officer Ms. Megha Munjal, Dean Students Affairs and Co Convener of Zonal Youth Festival Dr. Jagjit Malhotra  and Mr. Dawinder Pridarshi for leaving no stone unturned to make the event a success
