CENTER AT DAVIET FOR AWARENESS PROGRAM FOR INCUBATORS

IMG_0403-vertIMG_039920160726_122956_1_The Centre for Incubation and Entrepreneurship( CIE) of DAVIET organized an awareness program on Entrepreneurial Incubation in association with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Industry.   The program aimed at enlightening the students about the various programs being run by the Ministry of MSME to promote Entrepreneurial Skills in the bussing managers and technocrats of the Institution. The entire ministry of MSME was present during the interactive session which was a big morale booster for all the students.

Mr. Vijay Kumar, Director MSME, Government of India interacted with the students and provided the details of the grants and guidance that the Ministry of Micro, Small and medium Industry offers.  He highlighted that MSMEs provide large employment opportunities at comparatively low capital cost. In his address he highlighted the ministry offers a Design Clinic Scheme. He shared that the scheme aims at enhancing the understanding  and application of design and innovation  to promote value addition to products.  He also highlighted that  for Design project funding for final year engineering students , the total project cost is upto Rs. 2.0 Lakh, wherein Government of India funds auto a limit of Rs. 1.5 Lakhs.  While talking about other initiatives of Government of India, he touched upon Credit Guarantee Find Trust for  Micro, Small and medium Industry which aims at providing  bank credit without the hassles of collaterals / third party guarantees to promote start ups.

Mr. Kamal Singh, Deputy Director,   MSME, Government of India, appreciated the efforts put in by DAVIET  for entrepreneurial development under the stewardship of principal Dr. Manoj Kumar.   He stated that the Government of India is aware of the needs of changing times  and assured the students that it will always be by their side in their endeavour to become job providers. He urged upon the students to come up with new business ideas which are commercially viable. He assured that the Ministry will select the promising business ideas of students of DAVIET and will give unconditional support to groom and develop the ideas.

Mr. Neeraj Arora, Assistant Director ( Food), MSME, Government of India, in his address explained the basic philosophy behind setting up of incubation centers. He also highlighted that modern age is the age of ideas and it is not necessary that an incubate has to be  science graduate.  He emphasized that a person belonging to any field having a nascent idea can be an incubate and get expert guidance from the ministry of MSME.  He also stated that in the modern day industry driven world, innovation aims at value addition.

The event witnessed participation from representatives of Local industry as well. Mr. Harish Gupta, President Laghu Udyog Bharti, Jalandhar, highlighted the fact that industry can florish if it has a constant supply of innovative ideas. He added that in India by 2020, 20 crore people will be unemployed. The existing agrarian economy is incapable of providing jobs to such a large number of people. He urged upon the budding entrepreneurs that they should strive to bring about a paradigm shift from the agricultural to industrial sector so that India can enter into the league of developed nations.

Mr. Ahsan Ul Haq, President, Jalandhar Management Association was the other Industrial representative who highlighted the fact that MSME is doing a great job in making people move from unemployment to self employment.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET, urged upon the students to strive to become entrepreneurs and expressed his confidence that with the guidance of the  Ministry of Micro, Small and medium Industry, the students of DAVIET will become the true business leaders of tomorrow. He also stated that in order to provide its students the latest exposure, industrial visits and Industrial liaisons will be established. He urged the students to think out of the box and keep on challenging the limits to excel in  life. He appreciated the work put in by Dr. Sonia Chawla, Head CIE of the Institute.
