Students participating Earth Day Event 2021-2022

Our students teams have secured 1st position in cloud track and 2nd position in Network track under the mentorship of our faculty members in Huawei ICT competition 2021-22 organized by Huawei Telecommunication Co. Ltd. Gurgaon

6 students from IT department have received an invitation to Graduate Engineer Trainee at Huawei Telecommunication Co. Ltd. Gurgaon during the session 2021-22.

Department of Information Technology, DAVIET organized a Technical quiz on 10th Feb, 2020 under the CSI (Computer Society of India). Students from all semesters of the IT department participated in this competition. Dr. P S Mann (Assistant Professor, IT and Coordinator, Quiz) welcomed all the participating students and wished them luck with a belief that all the teams would give a tough competition to each other. The quiz was based on Technical Knowledge from
Information Technology domain and General Knowledge of National significance. After the successful completion of Quiz, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head, IT congratulated the participants and motivates them to excel in their respective fields of interest so that they can achieve more success in such events and acquire more technical Knowledge. In his address, he extolled the efforts of the students and applauded the efforts of the students. He enlightened the fact the whole event was organized by the students of IT and was indeed an enriching experience for the audience thereby providing ample scope of learning and exploration of new ideas, facts and
knowledge for the students.

Expert lecture on “Latest Trends in Web Technologies”

An expert lecture on “Latest Trends in Web Technologies” was conducted by Mr. Gurpreet Singh GTB, Jalandhar on 31-01-2020 for the students of B Tech IT 6th semester. The whole motive of this task was to make students aware about the latest technologies as per the industry requirements. The major points covered in this task were:-

• Full Stack Developer
• Front end and back end designing Tools.
• Emerging web Programming languages like- Angular, its deployment and libraries etc.

Expert talk on “CrowdSourcing”

Department had organised an expert talk on “CrowdSourcing” for the students of B.Tech –IT, on 22 nd Jan,2020. Mr. Ekant Puri, Representative of Google, India was the speaker during this event. During his interaction with faculty and students, he discussed the various application and domain areas in Machine Learning and Artificial intelligence. He enlightened the students how to train goggle machine learning models. He also discussed that by using CrowdSourcing – An application, which enable everyone to contribute in Google products, the application offers a hands-on practice to learn how training machine learning models works Basic training on Machine learning and Artificial intelligence will give an opportunity to students to lead local communities with support from Google.

Industry Week

Workshop on Machine Learning and Tensorflow

Department had organized workshop on Machine Learning and Tensorflow for the students of B.Tech IT. Mr. Rahul Pathak and Mr. Ranu Mishra from CETPA, Noida had conducted this workshop in the department. During this workshop, various topics like Machine Learning introduction, statistical background, ML libraries, planning ML tasks and implementation of project in Tensorflow had been discussed.

Expert Talk on Cyber Security

Mr. Palwinder Singh, Founder and CEO, Secuneus Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has delivered an expert talk on Cyber Security to the students of B.Tech – IT 5th Semester. During his talk, he has discussed the various topics of Cyber Security like vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), Website Security, Digital Fraud, Cyber Space, Cyber Crimes, Cyber Law, Carrier in Cyber Security, Online Banking Security and Case Studies.

Expert Talk on Web Technologies

Expert Talk on Web Technologies was organized in the department for the students of B.Tech – IT 6th Semester. Er. Chetan Sharma from OsoftMediia, Jalandhar has delivered the talk on various technologies like Google AMP, PHP7, SSL etc.

FDP on Data Science using R

Department organized ICT based One week FDP on Data Science using R in collaboration with NITTTR, Chandigarh as a remote center from 26/11/2018 to 30/11/2018. Faculty members from different departments are attending this course.

Expert talk on Wireless System Design

An expert talk on Wireless System Design was organized in the department for the students of B.Tech – IT (5th Sem) on 12/10/2018. Dr. Pooja Dand has delivered this talk in the department. She has discussed some of the essential components of wireless systems design with the students.

Workshop on Internet of Things using Arduino and Raspberry Pi

Department has organized workshop on Internet of Things using Arduino and Raspberry Pi on 5/10/2018. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar from Electron Solution, Jalandhar was the resource person for this workshop. Students of B.Tech IT (3rd & 5th semester) have participated in this workshop.

Workshop on IoT

Department has organized one day workshop on IoT for the students of B.Tech IT 3rd & 5th Semester. Mr. Deepak Kumar, and Ms. Neelam Thakur from Nordia Ventures, Mohali has delivered this workshop on 21/9/2018 in the institute.

Seminar on Big Data Analytics using Hadoop

Mr. Sandeep Dixit and Mrs. Manisha Malhotra from Teach Tech Services has delivered a talk on Big Data Analytics using Hadoop on 30/8/2018 for the students of B.Tech – IT 5th Semester.

Expert Talk on Data Science using Python

Expert Talk on Data Science using Python was organized on 29/8/2018 for the students of B.Tech – IT 3rd Semester. Mrs. Manisha Malhotra from Teach Tech Services has delivered a talk on the said topic.

Department has organized Workshop-cum-Expert Talk on “Machine Learning using Python” for the students on 08/3/2018. Mr. Pankaj Sharma from HCL Technologies was the resource person for this workshop. The event was organized under CSI student Branch of the Institute.

Department has organized Workshop-cum-Expert Talk on “DevOps using Dockers” for the students on 13/3/2018. Er. Vipin Gupta, Director, UNet Solutions was the resource person for this workshop. The event was organized under CSI student Branch of the Institute.

Department of Information Technology, DAVIET organizes Industry week 2017

The Department of Information &Technology of DAV institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET) has organized its “Industry Week” in the college. This edition of the Industrial Week will be conducted from 3^rd April 2017 to 7^th April 2017.

Principal, DAVIET Dr. Manoj Kumar welcomed all the experts from the industry. He appreciated the efforts done by the department of Information &Technology and motivated the students to participate in this Industrial Week. In his address to the students, he enlightened the students with the fact that this knowledge will be beneficial for them in their future endeavors and emphasized on the fact that the Expert of today is our own alumni.

Dr Dinesh Kumar, HOD (IT Department) thanked the Experts for their precious time to deliver their knowledge and share their wisdom with the students.

The motive of this industrial week is to inform the students about the gap between the college curriculum and the real time work that is carried out in the Industry these days.

The week commenced with the Expert Talk on Improvement in Employability Skills by Mr. Ankit Wahi, Associate Project Manager, Maven Wave Partners, Chicago/Chandigarh. He enlightened the students about theemerging SMAC Technologies (Social Media Analytics & Communication) and the modern trends in data analytics that are required in the real industry. Followed by this Ansh InfoTech from Ludhiana conducted a workshop on Digital Marketing & Networking. Many more such workshops, seminars &Expert Talks are going to be conducted during this week. At last Mr Rajesh Kochher, Industrial Coordinator (IT Deptt.) informed the students about the detailed schedule of this Industry Week. All the faculty members and students were present during this event. Here are a few glimpses:

Hawan Yajna

Department has organised Hawan Yajna on 14th March 2017 in the institute. Hawan is one of the ten positive virtues or niyam that is prescribed for the devotee whose aspiration is to draw closer to the Divine, ultimately acquiring Oneness with Him.

Yajna is a noble karma for benefit of whole mankind.

Industry Week 2016

DAVIET IT department organized the industry week from 28^th March, 2016 to 01 April, 2016. So as to facilitate them in selecting right skills for their future endeavors, workshops on latest technologies, industry visits etc. On the very first day, Mr. Rajesh Kochher, Industrial coordinator-IT had presented the schedule of the industry week. Mr. Ankit Wahi, Senior Project Manager, Smart Data Enterprises, Mohali and  Mr. Nitish Suri, Data Analyst, Accenture, Bangalore had delivered the expert talk on “Recent trends in IT & Project management”  and “System Application and products in data processing” respectively. Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar welcomed the dignitaries. In his address to the students he appreciates the initiative taken by the IT department for conducting the industry week. He also motivates the students to participate in these kinds of events for enhancing their knowledge and getting the exposure from industry people. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, HOD – IT told the audience that it was great honor for the institute that both the experts are the alumni of the institute. He motivated the students to attain heights in future and achieves their goals.

• Introduction to SAP and how to login in SAP
• Different modules in SAP
• Updations in database via transactions in SAP and GUI of SAP.
