6th PTU Intra Zonal Youth Festival: 2007 (Zone 2) hosted by DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar inaugurated on November 02, 2007 continued on 2nd day with zeal and zest. Hon’ble Sh. Manoranjan Kalia, Minister for Local Bodies, Industry & Commerce, Govt of Punjab graced the occasion by his benign presence as Chief Guest at the Valedictory day of this mammoth event. Sh. Rajneesh Sachdeva, Dean, Cultural Affairs, PTU, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Principal C.L. Arora, Sh. S.S Chathha, Principal, LIM, Phagwara, Sh. Singla, Director, LIT, Phagwara, Sh. R.K. Dhawan, Principal, RIET, Phagwara, Sh. O.P Mahajan, Sh. Arvind Ghai, Sh. Ravi Mahindru, President, BJP, Jalandhar, Sh.Jawahar Sood, Sr. BJP leader, Sh. Ramesh Sharma, President, BJP Central Mandal, Sh. Prem Bhardwaj, Press Secretary, Central Mandal BJP, Sh. Rajat Mohindru, Press Secretary (Pb) BJP, Sh. Chaman Lal Sharma, Sr. BJP leader were also present there to witness this mega event.

Sh. C.L.Kochhar, Director-cum-Principal, DAVIET welcomed the chief guest, eminent personalities, elite gathering of dignitaries from various colleges, and officials from the various participating institutions. He stated that youth festivals are conducted to boost youth confidence. He cherished the performers in flying colours and motivated them to participate in co-curricular activities in future also with the same fervor. He expressed his sincere thanks to Sh. Manoranjan Kalia for sparing his valuable time for the inspiration of the students.
Sh. Manoranjan Kalia appreciated the efforts made by the organizers for arranging this festival and to make it a very pleasant and enjoyable. He admired the performance and dedication shown by the participants of the various cultural events. In his speech, he stated that such activities are essential for the overall development of personality of budding technocrats. He showered his blessings upon the youth for progress in all the fields of life. He appreciated the devotion and dedication of Sh. C.L. Kochhar also.

Various events of the day were conducted at three different venues simultaneously. Events that took place on the day were western solo, western group song, mimicry, mime,
skit, Punjabi folk dance (girls), Punjabi folk song, vaar singing, debate, quiz final, on the spot painting, collage and poster making.

DAVIET created a landmark record by lifting the overall PTU Zonal youth festival Trophy 2007 for the sixth consecutive time. It is noteworthy that Punjab Technical University has organized the Youth Festival for just six times and DAVIET has the honor to bag the overall Zonal Youth Festival Trophy for all the six times. DAVIET won this trophy with gigantic difference of points by leaving behind the runners up team i.e., Lovely Institute of Management, Phagwara. The outstanding students of DAVIET participated in all the events and marked their perpetual existence in them. Ms. Tarangini and Ms. Prerna Dogra, students of DAVIET were declared as the Best Actor and Best Debator respectively.

The performance shown by participants was par excellence which was applauded by one and all. The function was concluded with prize distribution ceremony and the chief guest gave away the prizes to the winning teams.
