
DAVIET is fantastically bearing and managing the crown of being the premier institute of the northern region. With the enormous support of its mentors DAV Managing Committee, New Delhi, DAVIET is zooming on to the research avenues that is not only imperative to cope the recent research trends but it is also a life support system of the technical education.
With the aim of opening up the new vistas in the field of Nanotechnology, DAVIET has appointed Dr. Hardev Singh Virk (Ph.D. from Marie Curie University, Paris) as Director Research .A man with profound intelligence and magnanimous research and teaching experience of 40 years, Dr. Virk retired from GNDU as Director Earthquake Research Centre. He has worked under various capacities as Head Physics Department, Dean Science Faculty, Dean Academic affairs and as a visiting professor to almost a dozen foreign Universities. Highly traveled personality (visited almost 40 countries) with regard to research activities, Dr. Virk has 320 research papers (in radiation physics, Nanotechnology and Seismology), and 125 general articles, 16 books alongwith 16 major research projects to his account. He also established a lab (Centre Govt. Project) in Rangoon University of Myanmar in 2005.
Sh. C.L. Kochher, Director-cum-Principal, DAVIET while handing over the appointment letter to Dr. H.S. Virk apprised that DAV management has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 50 Lacs for the time being along with to provide basic infrastructure requirements of the new Lab to be established. He also stated that DAV Management has promised to provide an unconditional and full support for the establishment of the Lab with in the time span of three years. Nanotechnology-a buzzword in the field of Technology is an inter-disciplinary area of research involving Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Information Technology. Establishment of this lab is going to be a big leap as it will impact the fields of Electronics & Communication Medicine, IT & almost every sphere of modern life in future.
