A grand farewell function in the honour of Mrs. P.P. Sharma, Principal, HMV, Jalandhar and Regional Director, DAV Public Schools was organized by the Management and staff of all DAV Institutions of District Jalandhar at the convention hall of DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology at 6 PM on November 16, 2007. Sh.R.S Sharma, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee, New delhi presided over the function.  Sh. D.R. Gupta, Director (Colleges) DAVCMC was the Guest of Honour. Sh. K.D. Bhandari, MLA, Jalandhar, Sh. C.L.Kochher, Director-cum-Principal, DAVIET, Dr. V.K Tewari, Principal, DAV College, Jalandhar, Mrs. J. Kackria, Principal C.L Arora, Dr. V. K. Sharma, Dr. K N Kaul, Principal Indrajeet Talwar, Principal Ravi Sharma, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Principal J.P Chowhan, Principal Madhu Sharma, Dr. Raj Kumar, Dr. Rashmi Viz, Principal Vijay Sharma and many more principals from various DAV schools and Colleges were present on the occasion to bid adieu to Mrs. P.P. Sharma on attaining 35 years in the field of Higher Education and DAV Movement. The Floral greetings were presented to Mrs. Sharma by various Principals. The farewell function presented a gamut of unforgettable and heartfelt farewell speeches   by distinguished personalities present on the occasion.

Sh. D.R.Gupta cited her immense contribution in DAVCMC.  Sh. R.S. Sharma stated that the success of any education Institute largely depends upon head of the Alma-mater and it’s a matter of immense proud for the DAV fraternity to have dedicated Principal like Mrs. P.P Sharma.

Sh. K.D.Bhandari threw light on her contribution in the field of education particularly for people of Jalandhar. Sh. Indrajeet Talwar appreciated her for the magnificent contribution towards the Arya Samaj. Mrs. Kackria, in her speech, stated that due to her profound skills and stewardship, HMV secured top most rank in the country by getting 94.05 points by NAAC, a high profile committee of UGC. In her credit she has 25 awards of national and international stature in addition to the honour of ‘Ambassador for Peace’ by the Universal Peace Federation and inter-religious and International Federation for World Peace for two consecutive years. 

Sh. C.L.Kochher extended his sincere gratitude to Mrs. Sharma on the behalf of DAV fraternity for the excellent work done for fostering the education. He stated that she stands head and shoulders about other administrators due to her leadership style, superb administrative talent and dexterous managerial skills. He wished her all the best in her future endeavors.
The function was concluded with honour to dignitaries.
