A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at DAVIET. Lectures, case analysis, simulation games and exercises, syndicates, group discussions and practical project works are commonly used to develop conceptual, analytical and decision making skills and to prepare the students to face the challenges of the complex business and organisational environment. An attempt is made to assess the students' performance through a continuous system of tests, quizzes, mid-term and semester-end examination to ensure highest academic standards as well as practical orientations.

An important part of personality development is continuous improvement of communication skills which is facilitated through group discussions, seminars, expert lectures, presentations and special communication classes to enhance confidence and to make students more presentable.

LIVE PROJECTS

Though classroom learning is given emphasis at DAVIET, students are also required to undertake a number of practical projects during the course for which the information gathered from business/industry is analyzed and presented in the form of reports.

SUMMER TRAINING

While exposing the students to the theories and concepts of modern management, no efforts are spared to develop a practical orientation in them. After completing the first two semesters of instruction during the first year, all MBA (Full-Time) students are required to undertake practical training in an organization for a period of six to eight weeks. Every student associates himself/herself with a reputed company that gives a practical assignment to the student. Their the student works under the guidance of a senior manager and submits a report to the organization  as well as to the institute.

DISSERTATION

Every student in the final semester of the programme is required to undertake a project assignment under the guidance of a faculty supervisor. The student has to choose a topic on which primary data is to be gathered and analyzed in order to prepare a dissertation for final evaluation.

SEMINARS/EXPERT LECTURES

The institute keeps on arranging for expert lectures from time to time by eminent personalities so as to provide face to face interaction and integral inputs from the industry. Faculty plays a crucial role in determining the requirements of the students so as to facilitate them with practical knowledge of ever changing scenario of Indian and global industry.

GROUP DISCUSSIONS

Communication is life blood of any business. With this view the department keeps on arranging various GD activities on relevant topics. Special arrangement for the GD hall has been made in the department to support such activities so as to improve overall communication skills of the students.
