WELCOME TO ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

From the production of power in power plants and the distribution in high power networks to the customer with his PC in his house hold or office, it is electrical engineering that influences our daily life in mostly pleasant ways. Electrical Engineers are involved in all areas of our modern information society. Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electrical equipment. Some of this equipment includes power generators, power transmission devices, electric motors, buildings lighting, automobiles, aircraft, computers and other office equipment and home appliances. The main areas are Electrical Machines, Power systems, Generation, transmission and distribution, control systems Electronics (including digital, applied and power electronics), Microprocessors, etc. Along with technical courses, Management Principles and Cooperate Laws are also taught to students to acquaint them to the industrial principles. The EE curriculum provides a wide perspective of the field of electrical and allows the students to decide their future directions. The course is at par with changing technology and enables the students to easily manage to multifarious environmental teams. Throughout the four-year program, students are encouraged to use their creativity and problem solving skills to explore and think about the unique problems in the world of electrical and computer engineering. Students are given a wide degree of freedom to investigate, design, and build a project of their choice. The EE branch provides the perfect ground and wider horizon to pursue their career in other IT related streams. The Dept. gives its full support to the students so that they turn out to be the best engineers with flying colors in their lives. Department of Electrical Engineering started its education program of B.Tech in DAVIET with an intake of 60 students in 2002.

Department of Electrical Engineering started its education program of M.Tech in  DAVIET with an intake of 25 students in 2008 as regional centre of PTU. The EE branch provides the perfect ground for excellence in core Electrical Engineering and wider horizon to pursue their career in other IT related streams. Students are given a wide degree of freedom to investigate, design, and build a project of their choice. The Department gives its full support to the students so that they turn out to be the best engineers with flying colors.

As the share of power from non conventional energy sources like wind generation, micro hydel generation etc. is growing in worldwide electricity supply also the nonlinear loads share is increasing day by day the problem of power quality is becoming more and more predominant. Electrical engineering department at DAVIET is focusing its research work mainly on power quality of wind generation using induction generators in its power quality lab. For power quality studies the fluke make three phase power quality analyzer (model 435) is used in the lab. MATLAB/ ETAP software are also used for simulation work.

The EE curriculum provides a wide perspective of the field of Electronics & Communication and allows the students to decide their future directions. As can be expected, apart from their core field of Electronics, the students get an opportunity to diverge into related fields such as computer engineering and Information Technology. The EE branch provides the perfect ground and wider horizon to pursue their career in other IT related streams.

Departmental Library

The Departmental Library contains 272 latest books and manuscripts related to electrical engineering. The project reports, seminar reports and various power point presentations are also available in the library for the assistance of students.
