INTER COLLEGE ZONAL CULTURAL FESTIVAL HELD ON DATED 5TH TO 7TH NOVEMBER 2003 AT DAVIET JALANDHAR

Living up to the reputation, the students of DAVIET made us proud by winning the PTU Zonal Cultural Festival Championship that was hosted by DAVIET on 5th & 6th November, 2003.hon’ble Shri Y.S.Rajan, Vice Chancellor, PTU inaugurated the festival. He appreciated the relevance of cultural festivals in maintaining the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. Shri C.L.Kochher, Director-cum-Principal of DAVIET welcomed all the distinguished guests as well as the participants of various Institutes. 15 teams took part in the Zonal level competition. Our team outshined the other teams & won the overall trophy after registering a handsome margin over PCTE, Ludhiana that ended up with Runners- up position.
Sh. Vijay Kumar Chopra, Chairman Hind Samachar Group of Newspapers was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. He gave away the prizes and medals to the winners. He was all prizes for the students & staff of DAVIET.

GROUP ITEM

INTER ZONAL CULTURAL FESTIVAL HELD ON DATED 17TH TO 18TH NOVEMBER 2003 AT BBSB FATEHGARH SAHIB

 DAV Institute of Engg. & Technology, Jalandhar bagged the winners trophy winning the Overall Championship during the finals of PTU Inter Zonal Cultural Festival that was held at BBSCET, Fatehgarh Sahib on 17th & 18th November,2003. Punjab College of Technical Education, Ludhiana won the runners up Trophy. In all, 22 teams which emerged winners in the three zonal festivals held earlier at Chappianwali, Malout: DAVIET, Jalandhar & BBSCET, Fatehgarh Sahib participated in the mega event.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PTU, Shri Y.S.Rajan was the Chief Guest on the valedictory function. He emphasized that Punjabi’s have immense talent and ability but the sorry affair is that the Punjabis are not fully aware of their inherent potential something like “You are sitting on a gold mine but you don’t know it”. Earlier speaking on the occasion Dr. S. K. Salwan, Senior Advisor, PTU emphasized the need to maintain the rich culture heritage of Punjab and congratulated all the winners of the competition. Sh. C. L. Kochher, Director-cum-Principal of DAV Institute of Engg. & Technology, Jalandhar was elated over the victory of his team that emerged Champions of the Festival for the second consecutive time. He dedicated the victory to the sincere efforts and hardwork put in by the students and the faculty. He emphasized the importance of the teamwork in winning such events. He lauded the role of Sh. Jaspal Singh , Programme Coordinator (NSS & Cultural Affairs) for giving new life to the cultural front of PTU and DAVIET emerged winners securing the first position in seven events including Western Group Song, Rangoli, Cartooning , Poster Making , Collage, Elocution, Classical Instrumental Percussion and runners up position in seven events including One Act Play, Skit, Mime, Folk Dance, Group Song(Indian), Classical Instrumental (Non Percussion) and Western Vocal Solo.

PTU organized its first annual convocation on march 23,2003 where the president of india, his Excellency Dr. A.P.J.Kalam graced the occasion being the chief guest of the day. Students from DAVIET had the honour presenting Shabad on the occasion

EVENTS OF 2004

Expert lectures under PTU knowledge reservoir series

under PTU knoeledge reservoir series the staff and students of DAVIET got an opportunity to listen to the thoughts of  Dr. G. Madhawan Nair, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO and Dr. Balakrishnan, Dean, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on 2, Dec.,2003. Dr. G. Madhawan Nair delivered a talk on Indian space programme and informed about the recent projects of ISRO. Dr. Balakrishan presented a lecture on communications and information security.

DAVIET holds the proud honour to host the PTU Special Convocation

DAVIET had the proud honour to host the Special Convocation of PTU, Jalandhar, on 2,Dec. 2003 in daviet auditorium. The convocation provides the institute with the opportunity to introduce DAVIET to the AICTE Supremo, Dr. R.Natarajan, Chairman All India Council For technical Education who was the chief guest on the occasion. Sh. O.P. Verma, hon’ble governor of Punjab and chancellor of university presided over the convocation.

Keeping pace with the changing world: DAVIET hosts board of studies workshop for PTU

A two days workshop of the members of PTU board of studies was held at DAVIET on 8 and 9 Nov.,2003. Dr. sadhu singh, director(colleges) presided over the workshop.

Fresher party Karizma 2003

The fresher’s party titled “Karizma 2003” was celebrated in the newly build centrally air conditioned auditorium of DAVIET. Sh. J.B. Goel special secretary technical education Punjab was chief guest of the occasion. Dr. Om Gauri Dutt Sharma Deputy director Programming, Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar was the guest of honor.

A culture event christened, heritage 2003 was organized by DIEMR, pune on 12 and 13 nov 2003. hon’ble padamshri G.P.Chopra, President, DAV college managing committee New Delhi and others stalwarts of DAV college managing committee graced the occasion with their benign presence.

‘Builders Of The Nation’: Celebrating ‘Engineer Day’

DAVIET got the honor of organising the state level function to celebrate 36th engineers day to commemorate the b’day of Sir  Mokshagundum Visvesavarya. Sh. Mohinder Singh  Kay Pee , minister of technical education was the chief guest.

Inaugration of Lala Chanchal Dass DAVIET auditorium

Hon’ble padamshri G.P.Chopra, President, DAV college managing committee formally inaugurated the newly build centrally air conditioned lala chanchal dass daviet auditorium on 8th march 2004 having a siting capacity of 1200 persons.

Inauguration of DAVIET Girls Hostel

The DAVIET girls hostel was inaugurated by . hon’ble padamshri G.P.Chopra in the evening of women’s day i.e., 8th march 2004.

Foundation Stone laying ceremony of DAVIET boys hostel

DAVIET feels proud to announce the commencement of the construction work of its second boys hostel in the institute campus on 26th april 2004. Sh. Kundan lal aggrawal  and sh. C.L. arora were also present on the occasion.

The champ of PTU cultural festival

Our student represented the PTU team in north zone A.I.U youth festival “kunz fest 2004’ at kurukeshetra university. Mr. Varun Garg student of mechanical engginering department won first prize in elocution competition.

Vedic chetna virat arya sammelan

A massive congregation of arya samajists vedic chetna virat arya sammelan was organized at  JC DAV college dasuya , distt. Hoshiarpur on 22nd feb 2004.

A mega event titled 2004 was organizing in daviet auditorium on 16th july 20004 to mark the valedication of institutional training.

EVENTS OF 2004

1.  DAVIET represented the Punjab Technical University in North Zone AIU-Inter university youth Festival “KUNZ Fest 2004” at Kurukshetra University on 12-16 January 2004.
2. DAVIET participated in IT gala organized by HMV, Jalandhar on 3-2-2004 and won a series of prizes in the events of Paper presentation, Technical Article Writing, Programming contest and IT Quiz.
3. DAVIET participated in “Tech-Disha” Organized by Punjabi University Patiala on 15-17 April; 2004 and won a no. Of positions in it.
4. DAVIET participated in “Suigeneris 2K4” organized by Beant college of Engineering & Technology, Gurdaspur on 15-17 April; 2004.
5. DAVIET participated in Technical Festival “Genesis-04” organized by Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana on 16-18 April,2004 and won a series of events.
6. DAVIET participated in “Tech Fiesta 1004” organized by MIMIT, Malout on 17-04-2004.
7. North zone AIU Interuniversity Youth Festival “KUNZ Fest 2004” at kurukshetra University on 12-16 June:2004.

         Mr. Varun Garg of Mech engg-1st year won 1st position in Elocution       competetion;  Ms. Prince Jain, Ms. Garima Thapar(CSE-3rd year) and Ms. Damanpreet kaur (ECE-3rd year) won 3rd position in the western group song competetion.

8. Talent Finding (Singing& Dancing ) Competetion of 1st year students on 4-09-2004.
9. Seminar entiteled “Unleash the champion” organized by Rotary club jalandhar on11-09-2004.
10. group song competetion at Bharat Vikas Parishad Lions Bhawan, Lajpat nagar, Jalandhar on 19-09-2004. We attain the Appreciation award in the competetion.
11. “Aman Mela” a fusion festival celebrated at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium on      24-09-2004 by artist of India and Pakistan.
12. Inter college Poster Making Contest to Celebrate International vouluntary Blood Donation Day org. by citizen welfare & Protection council at Jalandhar Cantt. At Red Cross on 01-10-2004.
13. La-Fiesta-2004 a three day national level technical cum-cultural festival org. by Technical student’s society of the department of comp. Science & tech. Of Guru Nanak Dev university, Amritsar. Manrajdeep singh and Manu Lakhanpal remained 2nd (bracketed) in web page designing, Varun Garg remained 1st in 1st test, Varun garg and Sahil sachdeva 1st in Flower arrangements on 02-04-2004.
