PTU – Inter – Zonal Youth Festival 2008-09

(14th, 15th & 16th November, 2008)

DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar created a history of sorts by lifting the winner trophy for 7th consecutive year. The team from BBSBEC, Fatehgarh Sahib ended up as First Runners’ up.

Speaking at the valediction ceremony, chief guest Sh. S. R. Ladhar, IAS, Commisioner (Jalandhar Division), said that such events are necessary ingredients for overall personality development of the budding technocrats and keep them abreast with their cultural heritage and efforts put in by freedom fighters.

Sh. C. L. Kochher. Director-cum-Principal of DAVIET, Jalandhar, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries and apprised the audiences about their personality traits.

Madam Sarojini Gautam Sharda, while speaking on the occasion, congratulated and thanked all the Engineering colleges and students for bringing out their hidden talent and presenting in front of everybody.

The event was graced by the several dignatries from Punjab Technical University, its affiliated colleges and elite of Jalandhar city. Notable among those present were Madam Sarojini Gautam Sharda, Registrar, Punjab Technical University, Dr. M. S. Grewal, Principal, BBSBEC, Fatehgarh Sahib, Prof. R. K. Dhawan, Principal, Ramgarhia College of Engineering, Mr. Jaspal Singh, Dy. Registrar and Cultural Coordinator PTU, Sh. N. L. Arora and Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal.

Mesmerizing performances from comedian Gurpreet “Ghuggi” and singer Teji Sandhu were perfect icing on the cake.

PTU – Zonal Youth Festival 2008-09 (ZONE II)

(3rd & 4th November, 2008)

DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar created a history of sorts by lifting the winner trophy for 7th consecutive year. It was virtually a clean sweep as DAVIET students emerged victorious in most of the events and won the trophy with a handsome margin. The two day cultural extravaganza, dedicated to freedom struggle of India, witnessed almost 400 students from 13 Colleges of Zone II of Punjab Technical university taking part in 25 events ranging from Cultural to Fine Arts and to Literary categories.

Speaking at the valediction ceremony, chief guest Sh. V. K. Sharma, IAS, Special Secretary, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab, said that such events are necessary ingredients for keeping the budding technocrats abreast of their cultural heritage and contribute towards their overall personality development. He congratulated the winners and Sh. C. L. Kochher, under whose stewardship this Youth Festival concluded smoothly.

The event was graced by the several dignatries from Punjab Technical University, its affiliated colleges and elite of Jalandhar city. Notable among those present were Madam Sarojini Gautam Sharda, Registrar, Punjab Technical University, Principal C. L. Arora ji, Chairman Local DAV Managing Committee, Mrs. P. P. Sahdev, Principal Mehar Chand College, Principal V K Sharma Ji, Mr. Jaspal Singh, Dy. Registrar and Cultural Coordinator PTU. Prof. Balram Dogra, Principal Apeejay College and Prof. R. K. Dhawan, Principal, Ramgarhia College of Engineering were present as members of Jury of Appeal.
