3rd Alumni Meet & Interaction with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
It was a day of jubilation and celebration at the DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar as the institute organized its Annual Alumni Meet. The day witnessed a history of sorts as hundreds of alumni reunited to share their views and discuss their future plans.
The institute had the proud privilege to host His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Bharta Ratna and Former President of India, a legend of the country, on this occasion.

Sh. C L Kochher Director-cum-Principal and Patron of the Alumni Association welcomed the alumni and thanked them for turning up in this big number. He said that alumni represent a living extension of an institute and an event like this provides an opportunity to reestablish old ties and meet new family members. “Alumni are our valued stakeholders who by continued participation, help the rest of us in the DAVIET family to fulfill our mission to Educate, Empower and Enlighten and today when we see you all well settled in life, we believe that we have been successful in our mission”, he added.

Ms. Neeru Malhotra, Convenor-Alumni Affairs read out the report and agenda for alumni meet. It was unanimously decided at the meet to start a regular Newsletter for alumni. A lecture series for current students by distinguished alumni on regular basis was also proposed to be started.
On this occasion three awards were also bestowed upon the distinguished alumni by the alumni association. The recipients this year are: Mr. Jatinder Kumar, IES, Mr. Amit Miglani of Product Engineering Department of Infosys and Mr. Parteek Sharma who is working in USA. An award for outstanding faculty member was also presented to Prof. C. L. Kochher by the alumni association.
