‘aDAVtiya 2017’: An Amalgamation of talent and Technical Knowledge

 aDAVitya 2017, a 2-day national level annual technical festival concluded here in DAVIET Campus on March 9, 2017.   The tech Fest aimed at providing students the much needed exposure about the latest development in diverse technical fields through various hands on workshops and technical events.   The theme of the tech fest is “Rising India: Reflecting Excellence” which encouraged the students to dream big for the nation and work hard to achieve the aim.

 aDAVitya 2017  witnessed participation of students from leading Universities and Institutions of the region like Punjab University, Chandigarh, Punjabi University, Patiala, Thapar University, Patiala, PEC, Chandigarh , GNDEC, Ludhiana to name a few.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET, welcomed the chief guest. He introduced the audience with the achievements of chief guest and stated that he is role model for students. He shared that a person needs courage to reach the zenith of success. He congratulated the participants of aDAVitya 2017. He appreciated Akhil Behl, a student of CSE for developing an App to keep every one connected during the Tech Fest.

The Chief Guest, Prof.  Yogendra Kumar Yadav, Director General, Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Bio-Energy, stated that the title of tech fest “Rising India: Reflecting Excellence” is very appropriate. He further stated that tech fests like these go a long way in molding the overall personality of students and teach them the much needed traits of leadership skills, team work, coordination and discipline. He appreciated the work done by the institution to organize an event of such scale to promote scientific and technical knowhow in students of the region. He said that the ultimate goal of education is to serve the society and to make the country excel.  He highlighted that renewable energy is the future of the nation  and encouraged every one to explore the nascent field.

Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head Department of Information technology and Convener of the tech fest thanked the chief guest and other dignitaries. He stated that the response to Tech Fest has been phenomenal as more than 1800 students registered in around 160 technical and non-technical events conducted over two days.

The major events to be organized during the two day tech fest include Project Display, Coding Events, Robotic Events, Placement Simulator, Business Plans, Model United Nation, Art and Photo Gallery.

The show stealers were the galleries organized by Arteso,   Alfaaz and Clicker the arts, literary and photography of the Institution. The Art gallery included sketches, painting, poetry and crafts.  The literary Gallery by Alfaaz showcased Poetry, nano tales and articles written by students. It also had a book corner for fiction enthusiasts. The photography gallery was entitled “Intifada”. There were five sections namely, Abstract, Landscape, People, Flora and Fauna, Founders and Beginners wall. In addition to it the Gender Sensitization Cell of the Institute in association with Humanity in Action Welfare Society organized a gallery to sensitize the people about importance of women empowerment in the society.

The title sponsor of the event is Visa King Global Education Pvt Ltd. Other sponsors include Evergreen Publications, Body Zone, Punjab National Bank, Broadways Overseas Ltd, Capital Small Finance , UCO Bank, Kohinoor Walls,  Gold Gym etc.

ALOK SRIVASTAVA, PROJECT DIRECTOR –ISRO SATELLITE CENTRE, BENGALORE INAUGURATES THE ANNUAL TECH FEST aDAVitya- 17 AT DAVIET.

 The annual Tech Fest aDAVitya17 was inaugurated here today  at the DAVIET campus with a great deal of fanfare. The tech fest which is a regular fixture aimed at providing a platform for the budding technocrats to showcase their talent. aDAVitya17 is a mega fest in which more than 120 events are being organized to provide maximum exposure to students. The theme of the tech fest is “Rising India: Reflecting Excellence”  which aptly describes India’s growth story in diverse fields ranging from medical tourism, scientific innovation, nano technology and the jewel in the crown Space Exploration.

The Convener of the Tech Fest Dr. Dinesh Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest and other participants to the Tech Fest and hoped that the tech fest will live up to its potential and participants will gain a lot. He shared that  around 1800 students have already registered from some of the leading institutions like Punjab University, Chandigarh, Punjabi University, Patiala, Thapar University, Patiala, PEC, Chandigarh , GNDEC, Ludhiana to name a few.

Dr. Manoj Kumar  Principal, stated that ISRO is doing some ground breaking work in the field of space exploration because of which the country is proud of it. He congratulated ISRO and the nation for the latest world record setting initiative of launching 104 satellites in one go. He stated that the achievements of ISRO are the direct result of its ability to turn every failure into success. He also congratulated all the Women faculty and staff members on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He further stated that through the TechFest, it is aimed that the  professionals from industry, scholars from academia and budding technocrats can interact with each other and can generate invaluable intellectual wealth which helps in pushing the boundaries of  science and scholarship.

The major highlight of the techfest was the presence of Dr. Alok Srivastava, Project Director, ISRO Satellite Centre, Bengaluru. Dr. Srivastava spoke on the topic, “ISRO’s Space Odyssey : Pioneering MARS”.  He threw light on the success of Mission Moon and Mission Mars. He covered the basic questions as to why the  exploration of Moon makes it such a rewarding enterprise for scientists around the globe.  He also shared that through exploration of Moon future Space bases can be established which will help in the exploration of space more. Further, he talked about  how Mars Missions  will enhance innovations that benefit the entire mankind. In addition to it, he talked about the recent  world record setting endeavour of ISRO in which 104 satellites were successfully launched in one go. He showed real videos of various launches and covered various stages that are kept in mind in the launch of a satellite.  He also shared that ISRO is making huge advances in Space Science at a very less cost, which is being appreciated all around the world.

In the run up to the Tech Fest an Aptitude Workshop was organized by IMS  to enlighten the students  about importance of Aptitude skills. A Seminar on Cracking GATE was organized by the GATE Forum. Like wise a workshop on IOT, i.e . Internet of Things  and a two day workshop on Quad Copter Construction were also organized.  A Mega Event Mock United Nations (MUN) was organized in which discussions were held on the agenda “Global terrorism can be bridled”.  There is an imminent need for innovation, for our youth to venture into the unlimited possibilities and achieve unique feats in the technological spectrum. Keeping this in mind along with our college motto “Engineering futures through innovation”, we present aDAVitya 2k17 with the belief in “Rising India” as a stepping stone for everyone willing to be a part of this wave of advancement in technology that is sweeping across India and to cash in on the ever so wondrous opportunities that are readily available to them.

  1. The key mission of the aDAVitya is to introduce, inspire, promote and encourage the next generation.
  2. To make this festival an occasion where values like Unity, Commitment and Culture are nurtured.
  3. To increase youths’ awareness through various activities like quiz, talent hunt, rock show by major participation of youth from all over the country.
  4. To motivate the youth of the country to take Community Social Responsibility initiatives.
