Is to impart the basic practical knowledge in the field of electrical and electronics Engg. and to develop the students' ability to apply the specific procedures to analyze the fundamentals of electrical and electronics Engg. systems. This lab covers the basic topics like RLC circuits, Line and phase voltage and line and phase current relationship in case of star and delta systems, 3 phase induction motor, Different methods to control the speed of dc motor. Study of different gates, LVDT, different types of instruments and semi conductor devices.
Electrical Machine Lab. I
This lab is concerned with providing practical knowledge of dc electrical machines and transformers. The work in this lab includes different types of test on DC motors and generators to find their characteristics. To understand the constructional detail of dc machines cut models are also available in the lab. This lab also provides the experimental setups to perform different experiments on transformers .

Electrical Machine Lab. II
The main objective of electrical machine lab II is to inculcate the knowledge of ac machines to the students. This lab has been equipped with all necessary electrical machines like asynchronous and synchronous motors, which further includes single phase and three phase induction motors, alternators, and synchronous motors, all of which help to enhance the technical skills of students
Power Electronics Lab.
The main objective of power electronics lab is to prepare the students for the careers in power corporations; because the latest technologies are based on solid state devices. In this lab the students are made aware with the basic and latest technologies in power electronics. This provides the basic practical knowledge like thyristorised speed control of dc and induction motors, and application of power electronics in electrical drives and machines.
Measurement and Instrumentation Engg. Lab.
Measurement is the most important part of an engineer’s job as every quantity requires measurement. The main objective of this lab is to prepare the students with different type measuring devices and instruments which are used in industry for measuring various entities. The use of modern day technologies in the field of electrical measurements is taught practically to the students in this lab. The students are also provided knowledge about maintenance and calibration of measuring instruments in this laboratory.
Control and Simulation Lab
This lab inculcates the students to perform exercises using Control System Toolbox by writing computer programs and functions in MATLAB. The students are taught to use MATLAB for Time and Frequency response of control systems Plotting of Bode, Nyquist and Root Loci diagrams, use of SIMULINK for the Design of Control Systems
Power System Lab
The main objective of power system lab is to prepare the students for the careers in power sector. Much advancement have occurred in the field of the switchgear, protection and switching devices. The static relays have replaced the electromechanical relays. In the power system lab, both static and electromechanical relays are available for study. In addition to this transformer oil testing facilities are also available in this lab.
Digital Electronics Lab
These laboratories serve in teaching students electronic measurements, electronic circuit construction, analysis and design at an introductory level. The laboratory comprises 15 student workbenches. Each workbench features state-of-the-art test and measurement equipment, such as power supplies, signal generators, digital multi-meters, mixed-signal oscilloscopes, Digital Trainers, ICs, Active & Passive Components and high performance personal computers. PCs are connected to the internet through a local area network. They have Windows XP environment and electronics engineering related software packages such as MATLAB, MULTISIM.
Microprocessor Lab
The purpose of this laboratory is to train the students to be familiar with the hardware as well as programming of microprocessors so that they can gain enough experiences to meet the demand of the microprocessor era. The laboratory is mainly equipped with 15 sets of 8085, 8086, microprocessor, ARM Microprocessors, microcontroller trainer kits and their peripherals, Pc’s, interfaces and measuring instruments.

Computer Aided Power System Analysis Lab
Main objective of this lab is to provide insight into the computer aided techniques of power system network. The analysis is done by using ETAP software, Power World Simulator and MATLAB which evaluates the performance, safety, efficiency, reliability and economics of a power delivery system. It emphasizes the use and interpretation of computational data to assess system operating limits, load level increase or decrease, equipment failure and mitigating procedures through computer-aided analysis to maximize cost-effectiveness. It covers Load flow, optimal power flow, Short circuit analysis, harmonic analysis and transient stability analysis for AC and DC systems.
Power System Design Lab
Design is significantly important, yet it is just one aspect of what it takes to achieve a successful project. A truly successful project is one where project goals are identified from the beginning and where the interdependencies of all building systems are coordinated right from the planning and programming phase. Power Systems Design Lab provides full service capabilities in planning, analysis, design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of industrial power and utility systems. It incorporates considerable depth of expertise in electrical power, transmission and distribution systems.
It also includes the designing of Complete Substation and short circuit calculations for circuit breakers.
